With the absence of the father and withdrawn and depressed mother, 17 years Ree Dolly keeps her family together in the land of the poor rural areas. Shes taken aback however when the local Sheriff tells her that her father has put their house as collateral for bail and if you do not show up for his trial in a weeks time, they will lose everything.
